H1B VISA and related criteria

There are various visa classifications which are used by foreigner to land in USA that don’t carry specific requirements, and are used by foreigner to come and live in the USA. Of course some individuals do adhere to certain visa requirements in order to live there, but the way in which they qualified for a visa is not their primary concern. The H1B, on the other hand, is a visa classification which could only be done if the applicant satisfies considerable skill, talent, and commitment that is required for the same.
So, this post shall essentially acquaint you with what H1B Visa actually is. The H-1B visa is a non-immigrant visa, designed to allow U.S. employers to recruit and employ foreign professionals in specialty occupations within the USA for a specified period of time. It provides the opportunity for foreign workers in specialty occupations to legally live and work in the US for a total of 6 consecutive years, and entitles their spouse and children (under the age of 21) to accompany them and legally live in the USA on an H-4 visa.
Who can file the petition?
Under H-1B visa requirements, the company, organization or the employer has to file H-1B petition for hiring the employee, while the foreign worker is the beneficiary. Foreign individuals themselves cannot apply for an H-1B visa to allow themselves to work in the US.
The criteria employer should meet:
1. Criteria for wages offered should strictly be adhered
2. Petition could only be filed if no U.S citizen or resident must be available for job
3. The job offer must be in specialty occupation like information technology, mathematics ,physics, architecture  etc
The criteria employee should meet:
 1. The applicant must have specialty occupation like information technology, mathematics ,physics ,      architecture etc
2.  The applicant must possess at least bachelor degree or its equivalent 
The H1B visa allows non immigrants to be eligible for an initial period of up to three years. This period may be extended, but generally not beyond a total of six years.
